UGC NET December 2020 Exam Scheduled In May; Registration Begins
The December 2020 edition of the UGC NET will be held on May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has announced today.
New Delhi: The December 2020 edition of the UGC NET will be held on May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has announced today. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the application process today. The UGC NET application forms will be available till March 2 and candidates will be allowed to deposit the application fees till March 3.
The NTA conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the selection of Assistant Professors and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

“The entire application process for December 2020 Cycle (May 2021) of UGC NET is online, including uploading of scanned images, payment of fees, and printing of confirmation page, admit card, etc. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including confirmation page to NTA through any other medium,” the NTA has said.
Candidates belonging to general category have to pay ₹ 1000 as application fees. Candidates belonging to EWS and OBC (non creamy layer) have to pay ₹ 500. For others, the application fees is ₹ 250.
After the completion of the registration process, NTA will allow candidates to edit their application forms. This facility will be available from March 5 to 9.
The NTA also conducts the NET on behalf of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The CSIR NET is held for science subjects only.
