More State Boards Postpone Class 10, 12 Exams due to Corona Virus Outbreak
Corona Virus Outbreak: Following suit of several State Boards, in the wake of corona virus outbreak, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry State Boards deferred examination dates till further orders.
The Telangana government has postponed the last intermediate 2nd year examinations scheduled to be held on March 23, 2020. The intermediate students had their geography paper- II, modern language Telugu paper-II, modern language English paper-II, modern language Urdu paper-II, modern language Hindi paper-II.
The board has also postponed the evaluation work till March 31, 2020. “The spot evaluation camp work at 12 evaluation centres scheduled from March 23 onward is postponed till March 31. Subsequent program will be announced later,” read the TSBIE circular.
Karnataka has postponed the last pre-university certificate or PUC annual examination scheduled to be held on Monday, March 23, 2020. The PUC annual examination has its English paper on March 23 which was postponed, and the new dates will be announced later, Director M Kanagavalli said.
The state government also postponed the SSLC examinations scheduled to commence from March 29, 2020.
Uttarakhand postpones class 10, 12 board exams. The state education board Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram said that the class 10 and 12 board examinations scheduled on March 23, 24 and 25 stands postponed till further notice
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
The Tamil Nadu government has postponed the SSLC examinations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Chief Minister K Palaniswami today informed the assembly that the class 10 examination has been postponed in the state till April 15, 2020. The dates of the revised examinations will be issued later.
States, including the central boards have rescheduled their class 10 and 12 examinations. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) have also postponed the class 10, 12 board examination and evaluation process till March 31.
