JEST 2020 Application Forms Released: Check How to Apply

JEST 2020: JEST 2020 Application Form has been released on 11th November 2019. Joint entrance screening test (JEST) is a national level entrance examination. It is conducted to offer admission in Ph.D. / integrated Ph.D. in Physics, theoretical computer science, neuroscience and computational biology. This examination is conducted by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). Candidates can fill application form through online mode.
The JEST 2020 will be held on February 16, 2020. Interested candidates can apply at the official website, jest.org.in. Those who clear the exam will be eligible to take admission in PhD or integrated PhD programmes in Physics or theoretical computer science or neuroscience or computational Biology in the participating institutes. The list of institutes includes – VECC, UGC-DAE CSR, TIFR, TIFR-TCIS, SINP, RRI, RRCAT, NBRC, IMSc, IPR, IISER, IIA, ICTS, ARIES, Bose institute among others.

Application Fee
For all categories-Rs. 400/-
For SC/ST /Female candidates-Rs. 200/-
Fee is waived for female applicants belonging to SC/ST category.
Eligibility
- Ph.D. Programmes (Physics):
Qualification: Candidates must pass M.Sc. in Physics. Some institutes accept B.Tech, B.E., M.Tech, M.Tech in Applied Physics and Mathematics degrees.
- Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc:
Qualification: Candidates must pass M.E., M.Sc. or M.Tech in computer science.
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC:
Qualification: Candidates must pass M.E., M.Sc. or M.Tech in computer science.
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc:
Qualification: Candidates must pass M.E., M.Sc., M.Tech and MCA from any recognized university.
- Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech- Ph.D. Programme (Physics):
Qualification: Candidates must pass B.Sc. Physics/ Mathematics. For IIA candidates must pass B.Sc. Physics/ Mathematics, B.E., B.Tech Instrumentation/ Electrical/ ECE/ Computer Science etc.
Note: For IISER Pune: Candidates must pass ICTS-TIFR, NCRA, and B.Sc. in Physics, TIFR-TCIS.
- Integrated Ph.D. Programme in theoretical Computer Science at IMSc:
Qualification: Candidates must pass B.E., B.Sc., B.Tech and MCA in computer science or respective stream from any recognized university.

Step 3: If you have not registered, click on ‘create new account’ or log-in using credentials
Step 4: Fill basic details and verify
Step 5: Use registered email id to log-in
Step 6: Fill form, upload documents
Step 7: Make payment
