Different State Boards, CISCE & Universities Postpone Exams and Shuts Down
Corona Virus Outbreak: In the wake of corona virus outbreak, the Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and CISCE Board deferred examination dates till further orders.
Delhi University will remain closed till March 31, 2020. The varsity has asked its staff to work from home and attend the office, if called in emergency.
“The University of Delhi shall remain closed till March 31, 2020. Staff (teaching and non-teaching) should work from to the extent possible and should remain available on telephone and other electronic means of communication. They should attend the office, if called for any exigency of work,” read the varsity release.
Rajastan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has postponed the board examinations. Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra said that the class 5, 8, 10 and 12 board examinations have been postponed till further orders. The University of Rajasthan too deferred all undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) examinations. The varsity will notify the revised dates of the examinations after re-assessment of the situations.
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Thursday ordered the postponement of pending board exams for classes V, X and XII, as a precautionary measure amid the Covid-19 outbreak. The written exams for class VIII were already over and their pending practicals have also been postponed, said the PSEB statement. The statement added that all pending board exams, which were scheduled from March 20 to 31, stand postponed, till further orders.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) announced to reschedule the date for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) that was to be held on March 31, 2020. While the entrance test will be scheduled after April 15, the new date will be announced after March 31, stated the GSHSEB statement issued late Thursday.
Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) today postponed class 10 and class 12 board examinations. In a release, CGBSE announced till further orders, all exams stay cancelled for both regular and open school. The fresh dates will be announced later.
Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE)
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has postponed the ICSE (class 10), ISC (class 12) examinations scheduled to end on March 31. “The council in the interest of the health and well-being of the students and teaching community has decided to postpone all ICSE and ISC examinations scheduled to be conducted from March 19 to 31, 2020,” CISCE said in a release.
The ICSE examination was scheduled to conclude on March 30, while ISC, Class 12 examination on March 31, 2020. The council will notify the revise dates after re-assessment of the situation, the council release stated.
