Amidst fear of Corona Virus, over one lakh students appeared for Kerala Engineering, Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination
Thiruvananthapuram :Kerala Engineering, Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination was conducted amid the fear of Corona virus outbreak and triple lockdown in more than 345 centers including Delhi and Dubai last week. The morning session was Paper I (physics and chemistry) which was common to students of both engineering and medical fields whereas paper II (Mathematics) was applicable only for the engineering students.
The COVID-19 prevention protocol was strictly followed in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Elaborate arrangements were done including disinfection of the exam centers and placement of 3,000 volunteers to safeguard the execution of the guidelines. Even after repeated requests and controversies from different sources, the government decided to conduct KEAM, following the successful pattern and the record of conducting the SSLC and Plus Two examinations in a similar scenario. No students were tested positive for the pandemic during or after these examinations.
